The widely read newspaper in Qatar, “Al Sharq,” which is published daily in Arabic, issued an article by Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the State of Qatar, Myratgeldi Seyitmammedov, dedicated to the smart city of Arkadag.
The diplomat’s material emphasizes the importance of the city, which has the status of the first “smart” city in Central Asia.

The first stage of the city was commissioned in 2023. It is one of the most comfortable cities for living, working and relaxing. The first stage includes 11 public and 25 administrative buildings, 19 educational institutions, 258 residential buildings and others.
On the territory of the new city, there have been created conditions based on a modern digital system for the operation of medical, banking, and trade institutions; bus traffic is regulated and taxi services are provided. As part of the “Smart City” Concept, an electronic document management system has been established.
The center operates an Internet network and portals in various fields; the movement of electric buses and electric taxis has been launched.
Construction of the second phase of the city has begun and is scheduled to be completed by 2026.
