China and Thailand signed a visa-free agreement.
The document was signed in Bangkok between the foreign ministers of Thailand and China following the first meeting of the consultative mechanism, China daily reports.
The innovation will come into force on March 1.
According to Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, the introduction of a visa-free regime will contribute to an increase in the number of Chinese tourists visiting Thailand. He also invited the Thai people to experience the vitality and dynamism of the Celestial Empire and the hospitality of the Chinese people.
China regards Thailand as a priority in its diplomacy with neighboring countries and supports it in pursuing its development path.
In turn, Thai Foreign Minister Parnpri Bakhiddha-Nukara said that the agreement on a visa-free regime is a symbol of long-term Chinese-Thai friendship and trust.
Next year will mark the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Thailand. In recent years, relations between the two countries have reached a new level.
There was signed an agreement on export of poultry meat and podocarpus to China. Podocarpus is a versatile plant intended for landscape design. China will import more specialized agricultural products from Thailand.
