In 2023, the Astrakhan Seaport reached record levels in terms of cargo deliveries


Astrakhan Seaport has reached record levels over the past decade, increasing the volume of cargo deliveries by one and a half times last year.
According to the governor of the region Igor Babushkin, in 2023, the cargo turnover of Astrakhan ports increased by 46% compared to the previous year. It amounted to 4.3 million tons.
Babushkin also stressed that the Astrakhan Region intends to improve the transport and logistics infrastructure within the framework of the North–South ITC, which is a key element of the transport framework of Eurasia.
A new large container hub will further increase the capacity of the seaport to 3.3 million tons per year. It will include terminals for processing grain crops and vegetable oil.
