Presentation of the Year of Magtymguly and the book of the President of Turkmenistan was held in Minsk
The presentation of the first book by President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov "Youth – the support of the Motherland" took place at the International State Ecological Institute named after A.D. Sakharov, Minsk. The meeting with the students and the management of the university was held by the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Belarus, Nazarguly Shagulyev.
The solemn event was opened with an introductory speech by the director of the A.D. Sakharov MGEI, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Associate Professor Oleg Rodkin.
Next, Ambassador Shagulyev told the audience about the celebration of the 300th anniversary of the classic poet and thinker Magtymguly and the international events dedicated to this in order to popularize his literary and philosophical heritage in the world. The year 2024 has been declared in Turkmenistan as the Year of the "Storehouse of the Mind of Magtymguly Pyragy", which is designed to actualize the poet's work, imbued with humanistic ideas, patriotism and enduring spiritual values, the ambassador noted.
The guest of the event, Director of the Belarusian-Uzbek Interdisciplinary Institute of Applied Technical Qualifications, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor Igor Gancharenok, made his report, which he called: "A country where brotherhood is custom and friendship is law." The report was accompanied by slides with thematic illustrations.
Teachers and students of the Sakharov Moscow State Technical University also spoke, sharing with the audience their knowledge and impressions of Magtymguly’s literary work and reading his poems.
Then Nazarguly Shagulyev presented the book by the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov "Youth is the support of the Motherland". The basis of any nation is its youth, because the thinking and working style of the young are progressive and carry a great charge of energy that needs to be directed in the right direction. The first book by the head of state will certainly serve as a beacon for the youth of our country, the ambassador expressed confidence.
During the event, videos prepared by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Belarus were presented. At the end of the event, the leadership of the Sakharov International State Ecological Institute was presented with a book of works by Magtymguly Pyragy translated into Belarusian, which will replenish the university library.
