China has simplified the business registration procedure for foreigners, Xinhua news agency reports.

According to the innovation, foreigners applying to open a company with foreign capital in Beijing can complete the online registration process using the "face recognition" function.

The new policy, which came into force on January 18, 2024, significantly reduces the registration time, according to a message from the City Administration for Market Regulation.

Up to this point, foreign citizens had to provide an additional certificate confirming their identity issued by their country or confirm the authenticity of their name by issuing a bank card in China.

The applicant also had to be physically present to verify his identity.

One of the first to test the new technology was Emilia Bywaters from the USA, who registered a company engaged in cultural development in less than 10 minutes.
