The first meeting of the CIS Economic Affairs Commission this year took place in Moscow


Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Russian Federation, plenipotentiary representative of Turkmenistan in the Commission on Economic Issues under the CIS Economic Council Esen Aydogdyev took part in the first meeting of the said commission this year, held in Moscow on January 23.
The meeting was chaired by the plenipotentiary representative of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Vorobyov. During the meeting, a wide range of issues of economic cooperation between the CIS member states was discussed, the Department of Economic Cooperation of the CIS Executive Committee reports.
A video message from Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov was heard, as well as information about the Concept of the Russian Federation's Chairmanship of the CIS in 2024 and the Action Plan for its implementation.

Among other issues, the implementation of the Action Plan for the implementation of the first stage (2021–2025) of the Economic Development Strategy of the Commonwealth of Independent States for the period until 2030 was considered. The Plan covers 28 areas of cooperation and includes 286 activities that are aimed at developing and deepening economic cooperation between the Commonwealth countries.
According to the submitted materials from the CIS member states, all activities of the Plan are in the implementation stage or have already been completed. The analysis allows us to conclude that the activity of the CIS member states and industry cooperation bodies in the areas of trade, industry, information and communication services and communications, and support for small and medium-sized businesses has increased.
