Ashgabat and Moscow held a meeting of the Trade and Investment Support Group


The 9th meeting of the High-Level Group to Support Trade and Investment within the framework of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Russian Commission on Economic Cooperation was held on December 21-22 in Moscow.
The Turkmen part was headed by Deputy Minister of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations Kerimberdy Kurbanov, the Russian side-by Deputy Minister of Economic Development Dmitry Volvach.
At the meeting, the parties discussed the development of trade and economic cooperation, promising joint projects, conditions for improving mutual trade, interaction in the fields of industry and energy, as well as in the educational sphere, according to the website of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Russian Federation.
Following the meeting, the protocol of the 9th meeting of the High-Level Group to Support Trade and Investment within the framework of the Turkmen-Russian IGC on Economic Cooperation was signed.
The High-Level Trade and Investment Support Group works to coordinate bilateral business ties and create a favorable business climate for Russian and Turkmen companies.
The Group operates on the platform of the intergovernmental Turkmen-Russian commission on economic cooperation. The co-chairs of the IGC - Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexey Overchuk and Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov - regularly “synchronize watches” on the most pressing issues on the economic agenda.
During a recent meeting in Moscow, Overchuk and Meredov discussed preparations for the 13th meeting of the IGC and the second Turkmen-Russian business forum, scheduled to be held in Turkmenistan in January 2024.
