The Turkmen chess player shares first and second places in the junior World Championship after the 4th round
Turkmen chess player Leyla Shohradova after the fourth round shares 1-2 places in the World Championship among girls under 16.
Leila has so far won all her 4 games at the start of the tournament and was able to raise her Elo rating by 100 points. Leyla's rating performance after the fourth round shows 2,650 points, the press release of the Chess Federation of Turkmenistan says.
In the fifth round, Leila will face multiple world champion of different age categories, Russian Alexandra Shvedova, who also has 4 points to her credit.
The SHFT noted the work of the coaching team of Turkmenistan - Serdar Annaberdiyev and Gurbangeldi Amangeldiyev, who carefully study the style of play of our players' opponents before each round and intensively prepare for the game.
With 3.5 points out of 4 possible, our other chess player Mahri Agamuradova closes the top ten, who performs in the category among girls under 14, where 125 participants participate. After the fourth round, Mahri was also able to raise her Elo rating by 50 points. In the 5th round, Mahri will meet with an athlete from Ukraine, FIDE candidate Bozhena Piddubna.
Among the rest of our participants, Amanmuhammet Hommadov and Lala Shohradova have 2.5 points each, and Sanjar Gaibullayev and Gurbanmurat Rustemov have 1.5 points each.
