Turkmen chess palyers enter the fight for medals at the World Youth Chess Championship
13.11.2023 | 15:03 |Turkmen chess players will take part in the World Championship among boys and girls in the age categories up to 14, 16 and 18 years. The world championship takes place in the Italian city of Montesilvano from November 13 to 25.
This tournament is one of the most important starts for young chess players from all over the world, as the winners are awarded the direct titles of International Master or FIDE Master. About 800 participants from 93 countries will take part in the championship.
Turkmenistan is represented at this championship by the Asian champion among schoolchildren under 17 Amanmuhammet Khommadov, bronze medalist of the World Rapid Championship Leila Shohradova, national champion among women Lala Shohradova, medalist of the Asian Championship among schoolchildren Myahri Agamuradova, as well as Sanjar Gaibullaev and Gurbanmurat Rustemov.
A total of 11 rounds will be played according to the Swiss system. Game days: November 13-18 and 20-24. Online broadcasts of the championship games will be available on various websites, including lichess.org.
