Korean specialists will help to create a Korean Medicine Center in Turkmenistan


The National Institute for the Development of Korean Medicine (NIKOM) has revealed the details of the agreement signed in Ashgabat, on October 31, with the Turkmen Ministry of Health.
The document was signed by the Director of the National Institute for the Development of Korean Medicine Chong Chang Hyun (left), the Minister of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan Atageldi Germanov and the dean of the School of Korean Medicine of the Pusan National University Shin Byung Chul.

The main content of the agreement is: exchange of modern technologies and scientific and practical information in the field of oriental medicine and rehabilitation medicine; development and implementation of joint educational programs in the field of traditional medicine and rehabilitation medicine; cooperation in the development of healthcare and medical industry of Turkmenistan.
In order to facilitate the establishment of this interaction, experts from the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare of the Republic of Korea and related organizations (National Institute for the Development of Korean Medicine, School of Korean Medicine of the Pusan National University, College of Korean Medicine of Wusuk University) visited Turkmenistan and held meetings with Turkmen colleagues.
In particular, the practical implementation of the agreements will begin this month with the clinical internship of two Turkmen doctors at the School of Korean Medicine of the Pusan National University.

In addition to organizing regular internships, it is planned to create and operate a Center for Korean Medicine as part of one of the largest new clinics in Turkmenistan, approximately for October 2024. There are also plans for such cooperation projects, such as the industrialization of the production of traditional medicines, including scientific research, the cultivation of medicinal plants, their processing and the sale of finished products.
Earlier it was also reported that the Korean pharmaceutical company won a tender for the supply of anticancer drugs to Turkmenistan.
