Hyundai Engineering Co., Ltd. Announced Silver partner of OGT 2023
The International Conference and Exhibition “Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan – 2023” (OGT 2023) will be held in Ashgabat on October 25-27.
The international forum will help strengthen regional dialogue on further sustainable development of the energy sector and expand opportunities to attract foreign direct investment in the oil and gas industry of Turkmenistan, and will also review the latest trends in the global energy system. The Organising Committee is pleased to announce Hyundai Engineering Co., Ltd. as Silver Partner of this important event. To emphasize the importance of the investment partner from Republic of Korea, it is necessary to mention the “Galkynysh” gas field of Turkmenistan, the development of which started in 2009.
Production at the “Galkynysh” field started in 2013 by joint efforts of the State Concern “Turkmengas” and oil & gas companies of Republic of Korea and China. Later, Hyundai Engineering Co., Ltd. continued to participate in the development of this field. The next step of development was the construction of a gas desulfurization plant.
Due to its wide technical capabilities, Hyundai Engineering Co., Ltd. enjoys a number of opportunities for cooperation with Turkmenistan. Another key area of activity of the Korean company is oil refining.
In partnership with LG International Corp, Hyundai Engineering Co., Ltd. launched several new technological lines at the Turkmenbashi Complex of Oil Refineries.
Construction of Kiyanly polymer plant on the Caspian coast is another bright example of current partnership and joint projects between Turkmenistan and Hyundai Engineering Co., Ltd. The project costs more than 3.4 billion US dollars. In addition to Hyundai Engineering Co., Ltd., the SC “Turkmengas”, the Korean company LG International Corp and the Japanese TOYO Engineering Corporation were responsible for its implementation.
The plant meets global environmental standards. Even before the end of construction, it was awarded with a special prize by UK’s TXF, as one of the ten best environmentally friendly projects in Europe and Eurasia in 2014.
Hyundai Engineering Co., Ltd. focuses on training and education of local personnel. In Kiyanly, the company established a Training Center – a platform for plant specialists to study the theory and practical training. More than a hundred Turkmen workers involved in construction of Kiyanly plant are being trained at its base. In addition, technicians working at the gas chemical plant and other Turkmen industrial enterprises improve level of proficiency in the Center. This training helps to improve capabilities and opens new perspectives for specialists, who will be employed for Hyundai Engineering Co., Ltd. on other facilities which are planned to be built.
To date, more than 70 foreign companies have registered to participate in OGT EXPO-2023, and more than 300 delegates will attend the conference. Meetings with leaders of the oil and gas complex of Turkmenistan, which will be organized during the event, will provide an opportunity for further discussion of new investment projects and exchange of views. It's also worth mentioning that the participation of global oil and gas companies will contribute to the further development of mutually beneficial cooperation between all participants of the event.
