Saudi Arabia will host the summit of the Gulf Cooperation Council and Central Asian countries on July 19 in Jeddah.

King Salman has sent invitations to the leaders of all the countries of the two blocs to take part in the upcoming summit, the Saudi Gazette reported on Thursday.

In September 2022, the first meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the member countries of the Cooperation Council of the Arab States of the Gulf and the Central Asian States was held in Riyadh, at which a Joint Action Plan for 2023-2027 was adopted, aimed at establishing cooperation in the fields of trade, investment, education, health, culture and sports.

In August last year, Turkmenistan and the Gulf Cooperation Council signed a Memorandum of Understanding in Ashgabat aimed at intensifying relations, primarily in the trade and economic sphere, energy, water and food security sectors.

The GCC is a regional organization comprising six Arab countries: Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Oman and Saudi Arabia.
