The Foreign Minister of Kyrgyzstan urged to increase transport opportunities in Central Asia


The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Jeenbek Kulubayev urged to intensify efforts to improve the transport infrastructure of the region, the press service of the Foreign Ministry of the republic reports.
The minister said this at a meeting of foreign ministers in the China — Central Asia format.
According to Kulubayev, the geographical location of the Central Asian countries makes it possible to become an important land transit zone for transportation and trade between East Asia, the Middle East and Europe. This reveals the need to increase the level of transport and logistics integration, the creation of new transport hubs and corridors in the region.
In this regard, Kulubayev noted the importance of accelerating the pace of construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway, which is of great importance not only for the project participants, but also for the entire region. According to the Kyrgyz Foreign Minister, the economic potential of the region has all the possibilities for its transformation into one of the most important centers of world trade.
