Turkmenistan is preparing for a multicluster survey on the situation of children and women

Turkmenistan has started preparing for the next multicluster survey (MICO-7) on the situation of women and children in the country.
The survey will cover more than 6 thousand households selected based on the results of the continuous population and housing census of 2022. Monitoring will begin in November this year and will be conducted by the Government of Turkmenistan with the support of UNICEF and UNFPA.
The Technical Committee for conducting the survey, consisting of various ministries and departments, has already begun discussions on the issues that will be covered as a result of the survey.
The Global MICO program was developed by UNICEF as an international multi-purpose household survey program to assist countries in collecting data on a wide range of internationally comparable indicators of the situation of children and women.
MICO surveys measure key indicators that enable countries to generate data for use in policies, programmes and national development plans, as well as monitor progress towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and other internationally agreed commitments.
