The TAPI project will contribute to the implementation of the Paris Agreement

The construction of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas pipeline will provide residents of the region with gas at affordable prices, which will reduce the level of environmental pollution and contribute to the implementation of the Paris Climate Agreement.
This was stated by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of TAPI Pipeline Company Ltd Muhammetmyrat Amanov during the International Forum on Attracting Investments in the Energy Sector of Turkmenistan.
He noted that according to the studies conducted, there is a clear increase in air pollution in low-income areas, where people are forced to consume low-quality fuel or use improvised means for cooking on an open fire.
In addition to harm to the environment, the above factors also have a negative impact on the health of the population and are the cause of various heart diseases, pneumonia, diabetes and lung cancer, as well as increase the likelihood of heart attacks and strokes.
Thus, the use of cleaner natural gas in everyday life can play an important role in the implementation of the Paris Climate Agreement, which provides for measures to reduce the carbon dioxide content in the atmosphere.
