Turkmenistan took part in the meeting on transport transformation in Asia

Representatives of Turkmenistan took part in the Second Meeting of experts on the digital transformation of rail and multimodal transport in North and Central Asia, during which the parties discussed safe, sustainable and affordable road transport.
The event was held in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
The creation of such transport networks corresponds to the plans for the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development in the Asia-Pacific region, the website of the Turkmen Automobile Agency reports.
In this context, ESCAP is implementing a project on new technologies and digital transformation to create more competitive railway operations in the region. The main goal is to increase the efficiency of trade by increasing the share of rail transport in the total cargo turnover.
Discussions on priority areas of transport transformation will help to draw up appropriate policy consultations and prospects for the formation of a sub-regional network of experts.
