A ship with humanitarian aid from Russia arrived in Turkey


A ship with humanitarian aid from Russia, for the victims of the devastating February earthquakes in southeastern Turkey, arrived in the Turkish port of Unye on the Black Sea coast. This was reported by the Anadolu agency with reference to local authorities.
"A container ship Evrim Group with 184 tons of humanitarian aid from Russia on board has docked in the port of Unye on the Black Sea coast of Turkey. The ship, which arrived from Sochi, delivered food for the victims of the devastating February earthquakes with epicenters in Kahramanmarash," the agency reports.
The batch of humanitarian aid has been unloaded and sent to the disaster zone under the control of the Turkish Emergency Management Agency (AFAD).
Earthquakes of magnitude 7.7 and 7.6 occurred on February 6 with an interval of nine hours in the province of Kahramanmaras in southeastern Turkey. Tremors were felt in 11 provinces of the country and neighboring states, including Syria. The Turkish authorities have called the earthquake "the catastrophe of the century."
