Turkey to bring trade turnover with Uzbekistan to $5 billion

Turkey and Uzbekistan plan to increase mutual trade turnover to $5 billion. This was stated by the Turkish ambassador in Tashkent Olgan Bekar in an interview with Turkish World.
"In 2021, the trade turnover between Turkey and Uzbekistan exceeded 3.6 billion dollars, and we managed to maintain this figure in 2022. Now we are doing everything possible to reach the figure of $ 5 billion in the short term," the diplomat said.
According to the latest data, after the removal of economic barriers created during the pandemic, the trade turnover between the two republics is growing by more than 5% compared to the same periods of previous years.
In November last year, the head of the Turkish Republic Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that the country intends to increase the level of mutual trade with Turkmenistan to $5 billion.
