In January, Italy purchased Azerbaijani gas via TAP for the amount of more than 800 million euros


In January of this year, Italy purchased natural gas from Azerbaijan in the amount of 842,722,785 euros via the Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP), Trend reports with reference to the Statistical Office of the European Union.
The export of Azerbaijani natural gas to Italy during this period amounted to 732,675,000 cubic meters. In turn, the total expenses of the European Union countries for the import of Azerbaijani gas in January 2023 reached 1,006,939,047 euros.
In total, 8 billion cubic meters of natural gas were produced in Azerbaijan in January-February 2023. 2.2 billion of them came from the Azeri—Chirag-Guneshli field, 4.4 billion cubic meters of gas were extracted from Shah Deniz and 1.4 billion from SOCAR. This is 4% more than last year's figure.
The Trans-Adriatic Gas Pipeline (TAP) is the European section of the Southern Gas Corridor.
