Turkmenistan will promote children's rights at the global level — UNICEF

Representative of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) Mohammad Fayazi said that the election of Turkmenistan as a member of the Executive Council of the organization will allow the country to promote children's rights at the global level, including on the issue of immunization.
He stated this in an interview with the "Neutral Turkmenistan" newspaper on the occasion of the country's election as a member of the Council for 2024-2026.
"Turkmenistan can set an example and resolutely promote issues such as immunization, climate change, where, as we know, the country has achieved great success. This will give a new impetus to the already close cooperation between Turkmenistan and UNICEF in the name of the well—being of children," Fayazi said.
The official from UNICEF also noted that membership in the council is a major achievement of Turkmenistan, which is associated with great responsibility, since the country will directly participate in developing the agenda and changing the lives of children around the world.
In addition, Turkmenistan will be involved in reviewing and approving the activities of UNICEF, its policies, country programs and budgets.
