The representative office of the United Nations Development Program in Turkmenistan took part in the launch of a series of Sustainable Development Goals evenings within the Book Club "Book is the Source of Wisdom" at the Turkmen National Institute of World Languages named after D. Azadi.

UNDP representatives, together with club members and organizers, held the first evening on Goal 3: Ensuring a healthy lifestyle and promoting well-being for everyone at any age. The evening was dedicated to the recently held International Health Day.

The main purpose of the event is to familiarize young people with the ways to achieve the SDGs, to increase their awareness of the projects and program activities planned in Turkmenistan under the auspices of the UN. In addition, students have the opportunity to get acquainted with the long-term experience of cooperation between UNDP and Turkmenistan.

It was noted that holding evenings is necessary for students to clearly understand how the UN structural units are organized and what steps they are taking to achieve all 17 Goals by 2030.

So, at the evening, the participants were told about the world's best practices in the field of prevention and treatment of infectious and non-communicable diseases, as well as familiarized with useful tips on a healthy lifestyle.

Following the results of the event, the best Reader on the SDGs was selected. Representatives of TNIWL and UNDP expressed mutual interest in continuing the series of evenings.
