China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) will act as a platinum partner of the International Forum on Attracting Foreign Investment in the Energy Sector of Turkmenistan, which will be held on April 26-27 in Dubai (UAE).
The main goal of the upcoming forum is to increase opportunities for attracting foreign investment in all segments of the energy industry of Turkmenistan.
CNPC carries out its activities related to investing in the oil industry in 38 countries of the world, and the oil materials and equipment manufactured by the company are sold in the markets of 82 countries of the world. The company's participation in the forum is an important event, as it is one of the largest investors in oil and gas projects in Turkmenistan.
China has a strategic interest in the development of Turkmenistan's oil and gas industry, as the country is one of the largest natural gas exporters in the world. China, in turn, is one of the largest buyers of gas from Turkmenistan, and the increase in investments in this sector contributes to the strengthening of friendly relations between the two countries.
In general, CNPC's participation in the forum highlights the important role of Turkmenistan as a potential energy supplier on the international market, as well as China's interest in continuing cooperation with the official Ashgabat in this area.
CNPC's activities are focused on the exploration and development of oil and gas fields, oil refining and chemical industry, sale of petroleum products, storage and transportation of oil and gas.
On July 17, 2007, Turkmengas State Concern and CNPC signed a Production Sharing Agreement on the contractual territory of Bagtyyarlyk and a Contract for the purchase and sale of natural gas. According to these documents, within 35 years, the Chinese Corporation will carry out full-scale research, development and production of natural gas on the contractual territory of Bagtyyarlyk.
For 13 years, the Chinese National Petroleum Corporation has invested over 8 billion US dollars in the development of the field on the contractual territory of Bagtyyarlyk.
At the moment, there are three branches of the Turkmenistan-China pipeline — line A, B and C. In the future, it is planned to lay the D thread. Since the launch of the gas pipeline, the total growing volume of natural gas exports has amounted to about 330 billion cubic meters. meters.
CNPC pays great attention to the social component, in particular, acting as a sponsor in large-scale sports projects of Turkmenistan, including the World and Asian Championships. The Chinese Corporation also promotes the provision of vocational education to Turkmen youth in universities of the People's Republic of China.
