The American company Microsoft will open a multi-regional hub in Kazakhstan, which will cover the countries of Central Asia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Mongolia and Pakistan. Localization of Microsoft's activities will allow Kazakhstan to become a center of attraction for technologies and advanced solutions on a regional scale, the press service of the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry (ICRIAP) said in a statement on Monday Kazakhstan following the meeting of the head of ICRIAP Bagdat Musin and CEO of Microsoft in Kazakhstan Sergey Leshchenko.

An agreement to expand the Kazakhstan office to a regional hub was reached in New York in September 2022 during a meeting between President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and CEO of Microsoft Corporation for Central and Eastern Europe Michelle Simmons.

The regional hub, being the center of technological development and innovation of Microsoft, will be able to become a driver of human capital development and strengthening of the national economy of Kazakhstan through stimulating the production and export of products of non-primary technological industries.

The multi-regional Microsoft hub in Kazakhstan, created on the basis of the existing modern infrastructure, will allow implementing joint projects with benefits for the entire Central Asian region and many countries of the world, the message says.
