A street named after Heydar Aliyev appeared in Astana. On Monday, the Presidents of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, and Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, solemnly opened the avenue in the center of the Kazakh capital, Kazinform reports with reference to the press service of Akorda.
This step is designed to perpetuate and preserve the memory of such world-class personalities as Heydar Aliyev. The new street in Astana, named after the Azerbaijani leader, will make an important contribution to this noble cause, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said at the ceremony.
He noted the invaluable contribution of Heydar Aliyev to the establishment and strengthening of relations between the two countries. According to him, the great son of the Azerbaijani nation always spoke warmly about the Kazakhs and emphasized the common origins and heritage of the peoples.
In turn, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev noted that he was very pleased to participate in this historic ceremony.
