Record heat is expected throughout Turkmenistan on April 12-14

New absolute temperature records will be set throughout Turkmenistan on April 12-14, Meteojournal reports. In some areas, the thermometer columns will rise above the +40 degree mark.
The main reason for the abnormal heat is the phenolic processes, which will result in the release of air masses from the territory of Iran and their warming up on the slopes of Kopetdag.
So, on April 12, high temperatures are expected in the Ahal, Balkan and Mary regions, where the temperature will rise to +46 — +41 degrees.
A little less is expected in the coastal areas of the Caspian Sea: there, temperatures will reach +18 — +23 degrees. In Dashoguz region — +36 - +41 degrees.
On April 13, in some areas of the Lebap region, the temperature in general may exceed +42 degrees, approximately the same temperature will be in the Ahal region. In the Balkan and Dashoguz, it is expected to be +36 - +41 degrees, in Mary and Lebap — +37 - +42 degrees.
Temperatures are expected to drop only on April 14. In the Balkan region, the thermometer columns will drop to +16 -+21 degrees, in Ahal — up to +21 - +26 degrees, in Lebap — up to +23 - +28 degrees, in Dashoguz — up to +20 - +25 degrees.
Noticeably hot weather will remain in the Mary region, where the temperature will drop slightly to +32 - +37 degrees.
A decrease in temperatures will begin with the onset of a cold front, due to which local rains and thunderstorms may occur in some regions.
In Turkmenistan, such an April heat wave occurs every few decades. The last time such weather was recorded in Ashgabat was in 2008.
