Plastic today: modern technologies and environmental care
It is already difficult to imagine the life of a modern person without plastic. The entire twentieth and the beginning of the twenty-first century is rightly called the "era of plastic" because of the widespread use of materials of this family. Plastics are used everywhere: agriculture, aircraft construction, light and heavy industries, medicine. Would the world today be ready to abandon disposable masks and gloves, medical gowns, syringes, blood transfusion bags and other items, without which it is difficult to imagine providing medical care?
Plastics have penetrated into all aspects of society. We sleep on plastic–filled pillows, brush our teeth with plastic brushes, type on plastic keyboards, drink and eat from plastic containers - it is impossible to live at least one day without encountering plastic in one form or another. Plastics are used in incredibly diverse products of the modern world – from stockings to space suits.
Using plastic instead of other materials even helps the environment. In cars and airplanes, a number of parts are replaced with plastic ones, reducing the weight of transport. As a result, less fuel is required for acceleration and movement, which means we have lower CO2 emissions into the atmosphere. Without a doubt, plastic is a revolution in many sectors of the economy.
But at the same time, you cannot turn a blind eye to problems with its disposal. The active use of plastic affects the environment. That is why today, more than ever, there is a question of competent and correct processing of plastic products and, of course, the creation of environmentally friendly production of plastic goods around the world.
