US companies are interested in establishing graphite and hydrogen production in Turkmenistan

American entrepreneurs are interested in implementing a project to establish the production of needle coke, and on its basis — graphite electrodes at the Turkmenbashi complex of oil refineries.
This was told by the head of the Board of Westport Trading Europe Limited Nikolay Yurchenko, who arrived in Turkmenistan as part of the visit of representatives of the US business community, the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper reports.
The basic engineering developments have already been discussed and agreed with the specialists of TCOPP, and the implementation of production based on the capacities of the complex will take place in the shortest possible time.
The company also presented a project for the construction of a new rectification plant for a mixture of gas condensate and oil with a capacity of 1 million tons at the Seydi Oil Refinery.
At the moment, graphite is actively used in the nuclear, metallurgical, chemical and space industries. The number of its suppliers to the market is limited. Due to the decline in its global output, Turkmenistan has great opportunities in this area.
The head of the company also focused on environmental protection technologies, noting the possibility of widespread hydrogen production in Turkmenistan. Hydrogen is considered an alternative energy source, one of the most promising fuels.
