China starts cargo train services to Kazakhstan
Cargo train services between China and Kazakhstan has been launched, reports Xinhua. A train carrying 100 containers of furniture, clothes and electronic goods departed from Ganzhou, east China's Jiangxi Province, on Thursday morning, 27 July and is expected to arrive in Kazakhstan in 12 days. Kazakhstan is the third Central Asian destination from the port, following Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, said Zhong Dingyan, deputy head of Nankang District in Ganzhou. Links to Tajikistan and Turkmenistan are expected in the near future, he added. Ganzhou is intended to become a regional hub of trade and logistics. Due to abundant tungsten and rare earth resources in Ganzhou, it is recognized as the "capital of tungsten". Metallurgy, non-metal product processing, machinery, food manufacturing, textile and electronics are the dominant industries in the city.
