Turkmenistan and Iran are in favor of increasing mutual trade turnover and economic ties in order to realize the existing solid potential for developing cooperation.

This position was expressed by the parties during the talks between the head of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry Rashid Meredov and the Iranian Minister of Cooperation, Labor and Social Security Soulat Mortazavi, the website of the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan reports.

The Ministers discussed the expansion of cooperation in the fields of energy, transport and transit, noting the positive dynamics of the growth of trade turnover between the two countries. Special attention was paid to high-level meetings and the work of the Turkmen-Iranian intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation.

This month, the calendar of bilateral contacts was full of events: earlier it was reported about the meeting of Minister of Foreign Affairs with the Minister of Culture of Iran, conducting exhibitions of Iranian goods, Days of culture of the IRI in Turkmenistan and foreign policy contacts.
