Miners of Kazakhstan will be able to receive only profit energy for the emission of digital assets

Kazakh miners can now receive only surplus electricity from the general power grid at market prices through the Kazakh Operator of the Electric Energy and Capacity Market (KOECM).
The corresponding decision was made within the framework of the new law "On Digital Assets of the Republic of Kazakhstan" signed by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Tengri news reports.
The bill is designed to provide conditions for licensing miners of their activities. Among other things, the approved amendments to the law to the Tax Code and the Code of Administrative Offences are aimed at creating the necessary legal framework for regulating digital assets in the country.
The new law also establishes the requirements necessary to ensure digital security.
