Transboundary cruise on the Caspian Sea in 2019
According to the “Tourbusiness” journal with the reference to the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR), the “Mostourflot” Company is planning to launch a transboundary cruise on the Caspian Sea. The cruises will be made on a five-decker river-sea vessel (PV300VD project) designed for more than 300 passengers, which is under construction in Astrakhan. It is supposed that the 2019 cruise route will include Astrakhan, Derbent, Baku, Aktau of Kazakhstan, as well as Iranian ports, and possibly Turkmenbashi. The only country that requires entry visa for the citizens of Russia that we would like to include into the cruise route is Turkmenistan, and we hope that an easy solution for obtaining a tourist short-term visa will be found, said the representatives of Mostourflot. According to ATOR, at present there are no cruise routes, connecting two or more states, on the Caspian Sea and the Russian cruise will be the first trans Caspian cruise route. Experts consider this project very promising as the Caspian states have great tourist potential.
