The trade turnover between Turkmenistan and Romania increased by 7.3 times in 9 months of 2022 compared to the same period of 2021. At the same time, the import of Romanian products to the Turkmen market increased 6.4 times, and the export of Turkmen goods to Romania - 8.2 times. The head of the transport and communication complex added that Romania supplies mainly equipment, metal products, medicines and a number of other goods to Turkmenistan, and textile, light and chemical industry products, construction materials, petroleum products, etc. go in the opposite direction.

Mammetkhan Chakiyev stressed that Turkmenistan and Romania are actively working to develop cooperation in the transport and communication sphere. He noted that in November of this year a working meeting was held to discuss the draft Agreement of the international cargo corridor "Black Sea – Caspian Sea" between the transport administrations of Turkmenistan, Romania, Georgia and Azerbaijan, and the first meeting of the joint Turkmen-Romanian commission on road transport was held.

The high level of bilateral cooperation in the political, diplomatic, cultural and humanitarian fields was also noted. Mammethan Chakiyev especially noted the ties in the field of higher education, congratulating Ambassador Ion Naval on the national holiday of Romania.
