President Serdar Berdimuhamedov Receives President of the Federal Council of Austria Christine Schwarz-Fuchs

On November 3, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Christine Schwarz-Fuchs, President of the Federal Council of the Parliament of the Republic of Austria, who arrived in Ashgabat at the head of a representative delegation.
During the audience, the Head of State emphasized that Austria is one of Turkmenistan’s long-standing and reliable partners within the European Union. The parties noted with satisfaction the high level of political and diplomatic dialogue, highlighting the alignment of the two nations' foreign policy approaches, which are rooted in the principles of permanent neutrality and constructive cooperation within the framework of the United Nations.
Particular attention was paid to the role of parliamentary diplomacy as a practical tool for deepening interstate ties. The President of Turkmenistan underscored the importance of a systematic exchange of experience in the legislative sphere and the utilization of the potential of inter-parliamentary friendship groups to address pressing issues on the regional and international agenda.
During the trade and economic segment of the talks, the long-standing, successful presence of Austrian companies in the Turkmen market was highlighted. In particular, the positive trend in the supply of high-tech medical, chemical, and oil and gas equipment, as well as specialized transport machinery, was noted. To fully unlock the potential of this business partnership, the parties underscored the key coordinating role of the Joint Turkmen-Austrian Commission and expressed their commitment to fostering direct engagement between the government institutions and the private sectors of both nations.
At the conclusion of the meeting, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov once again extended his congratulations to Christine Schwarz-Fuchs—and, through her, to the people of the Republic of Austria—on the occasion of the friendly nation’s recent National Day, expressing his confidence in the continued, steady development of bilateral relations.
