Harvesting begins when the grain ripens in panicles - 85-90% of ripe spikelets should be contained. This can be seen from the color of the shells of grains. In Turkmenistan, the rice harvest is nearing completion and almost 82.5 thousand tons of cereals have already been harvested, the country's Ministry of Agriculture reported.

Rice is traditionally grown in the fields of the northern region - specialized farms of the Dashoguz region provide cereals for most of Turkmenistan. Before harvesting, rice paddies are dried so that harvesting equipment can pass over them.

Cereal is planted in April, and the land begins to be cultivated and prepared for the next sowing immediately after harvest, so that the field rests until spring.

Dashoguz rice is the most popular in the country and most housewives prefer it. Rice is not boiled soft during cooking, and pilaf from it turns out crumbly and very tasty.

Rice is processed immediately upon delivery from the field - it is dried and passed through cleaning machines. Rice grain is distinguished by increased biochemical activity and is stored only at a moisture content of less than 15% in special storage facilities.
