On the occasion of the 51st National Day of the UAE, which is celebrated in honor of the unity of the seven emirates, the embassy of this country in Ashgabat gave a solemn reception.
On behalf of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the government of Turkmenistan, Deputy Prime Minister Batyr Atdaev delivered a congratulatory speech at the reception on Friday evening.
He noted that the UAE has received wide recognition in the world for its great achievements in the socio-economic sphere, in strengthening the state structure, and improving the well-being of the people.
Friendly and fraternal relations between Turkmenistan and the United Arab Emirates are distinguished by a high level of mutual understanding and close cooperation. This is evidenced by the growth in trade between the two countries and the participation of Emirati investors in a number of major projects being implemented in Turkmenistan.
In this context, the recent official visit of President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov to the UAE (November 21-22) and the meetings and negotiations held within its framework, which laid the foundation for a new stage in bilateral relations, were noted.
Currently, the United Arab Emirates is a major trading partner of Turkmenistan, with bilateral non-oil trade reaching $653 million in the first nine months of this year, a record growth of 296% over last year. UAE Ambassador Ahmed Al-Khai Al-Hameli said this.
