The Transport and Communications Agency of Turkmenistan implements infrastructure projects


A number of infrastructure and social projects are being implemented in the transport and communication complex of Turkmenistan. In particular, a new hangar complex is being built at the Ashgabat international airport, the construction of the airport in Jebel and the railway bridge on the Turkmen-Afghan branch of Serhetabat-Turgundi continues.
Driving training grounds are being built in accordance with modern requirements for their technological equipment. In addition, the administrative office of the transport and communications department is being built in the new center of the Akhal region, and residential buildings for industry workers are being built in the city of Turkmenbashi.
These projects were reported by Director General of the Transport and Communications Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers Mammetkhan Chakiev at a meeting of the Turkmen government on Friday.
He also presented figures for transport by all modes of transport for the past 10 months of the year. In particular, it was reported that the plan for freight traffic was fulfilled by 109.4%, and for passenger traffic - by 104.3%.
The growth rate of the volume of services performed in the system, broken down by sectors, is as follows: railways - 105.1%, motor transport - 129.5%, air traffic - 175.2%, river and sea navigation - 110.6%, "Turkmenaragatnashyk"- 107.7%.
