President Serdar Berdimuhamedov proposed at a meeting with Secretary General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Zhang Ming in Samarkand to create a Business Council "Turkmenistan-SCO", the official Turkmen press writes today.

This structure will organize annual business meetings, presentations of economic projects and exhibitions, which will confirm the readiness of Turkmenistan for constructive joint work with the SCO, the Turkmen leader noted.

At the same time, Serdar Berdimuhamedov suggested creating a working group on energy issues between Turkmenistan and the interested countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

The President of Turkmenistan also took the initiative to create a temporary Coordinating Council for coordinated and efficient work in the field of transport.

The head of Turkmenistan is in the Uzbek city of Samarkand to participate in the SCO summit as an honored guest. On the first day of his visit, he also met with President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping, President of Russia Vladimir Putin and leader of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoev.
