Summit in Tashkent to discuss challenges and opportunities for women in trade in Central Asia


The USAID Central Asia Trade Program will host the second Regional Women's Summit on September 21 in the capital of Uzbekistan on the theme “Women in Trade: Challenges and Opportunities for Women in Central Asia. Best practices,” the organization says in a press release.
The purpose of the summit is to ensure that gender aspects are taken into account in all sectors of the economy of the Central Asian countries, including in the field of trade and customs administration.
The summit will take place on the Zoom platform and will be streamed on this link. It will bring together women business owners and managers, public figures, representatives of business women's associations, government agencies and non-governmental organizations.
The event will consist of several sessions on the importance of gender equality in the customs sector, an overview of the development of e-commerce in the region, as well as a discussion of the benefits of opening a representative office of the Women in Transport and Logistics association in Uzbekistan.
The USAID Central Asia Trade Program is organizing the summit in partnership with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the US Commercial Law Development Program (CLDP).
