Delegation of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation headed by Matvienko arrived in Turkmenistan


On Wednesday, a delegation of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, headed by Chairman Valentina Matvienko, arrived in Turkmenistan to participate in the first Inter-Parliamentary Forum of Central Asian countries and Russia, the press service of the department reports.
Matvienko will also take part in the plenary session of the Women's Dialogue, which will discuss the role of women in business, development of information technology and promotion of digitalization.
It is scheduled meeting of Matviyenko with Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Chairman of the Mejlis of the Milli Gengesh Gulshat Mammedova.
The delegation of the Federation Council also included deputy chairmen Galina Karelova and Konstantin Kosachev, as well as chairmen of the committees of the Federation Council on international affairs, science, education and culture, as well as social policy.
The Inter-Parliamentary Forum and the Dialogue of Women of the Countries of Central Asia and Russia will be held in Ashgabat on May 12-13 on the initiative of Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
It is expected that these events will open up new perspectives for strengthening dialogue in the field of peace, sustainable development and addressing pressing socio-economic and environmental issues.
