Magnificent Turkmen winter, or the Snowman from the President
The beauty of Ashgabat, covered in these December days with a white blanket of snow, is noted not only by residents of the capital, but also by numerous users of social networks, who are surprised to see a large amount of snow in the photos of Ashgabat residents. Surprisingly, because such snowfalls are really rare for this region.
Striving to enjoy the stunning winter beauty, many Turkmen citizens, unable to sit at home on weekends, go to nature, out of town, to the parks and squares of the capital. And one of the favorite resting places of Ashgabat residents and their guests - a cable car in the foothills of the Kopetdag - at such a time of the year gives a unique opportunity to admire magnificent views of the city and picturesque gorges.
President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, having put off important state affairs (and, as you know, presidents do not have days off), together with his grandson Kerim, devoted part of the day off on December 27 to a walk in nature. After walking to the foothills south of Ashgabat, they climbed the cable car to the upper, terminal station.
Having made a series of photographs of Turkmen nature, amazing in its winter beauty, on the way, grandfather and grandson made a snowman, since there was plenty of snow these days.
In general, farmers know that heavy snowfall is land that does not lack water, these are future generous harvests, these are succulent grasses for feeding livestock, and hence the growth of its livestock.
In Turkmenistan, they traditionally treat nature and ecology with care and diligence. The country is fighting desertification, planting tree seedlings, as a result of which the ecological situation is improving in many regions of the country and the microclimate is changing. Environmentally friendly technologies are widely used at Turkmen plants and factories and greenhouse gas emissions are reduced.
It is indicative that in recent years the channels of many rivers of Turkmenistan have been cleared, and the purity of the Caspian Sea coast is under special control. Also, work is constantly underway to solve environmental problems in the Aral Sea region.
And, returning to the topic of winter walks, we want to urge everyone who has not yet had time to play snowballs, slide down the hill and capture themselves against the background of spreading snow-covered firs, hurry up, since snow in Ashgabat is a rare phenomenon and it will not stay for a long time.
Meanwhile, all the employees of the cable car received New Year's gifts on behalf of President Berdimuhamedov.
