Turkmenistan aims to take place among world industrial powers
At present, Turkmenistan is taking the first steps towards formation of the electronic industry, where the form of public-private partnership has succeeded very well. The first domestic lighting devices have already appeared at the local markets. The economic company “Aydyn gijeler”, created by private sector jointly with Ministry of Industry of Turkmenistan, launched production of LED-lamps for the household and industrial purposes. Entrepreneurs have mastered not only the technology of manufacturing and assembling lighting devices, but also expanded production range. Due to the use of local raw materials, the cost of LED lamps produced by "Aydyn gijeler" is much lower than the comparable imported products. All parts of the product, except for the board, are manufactured from polypropylene produced by the Turkmenbashi complex of oil refineries. The economic company “Elektron Ylhamy”, being joint venture of State concern "Turkmenmashinstroy"[Turkmen machinery construction] and “Sowatgurlushyk” Company, produced about 150 urban sets of stepdown transformer substations with capacity ranging from 63 kVA to 1000 kVA. The assembly of substations, adapted for local climate conditions, is carried out in the workshop located on the territory of the “Turkmenkabel” plant. Specialists of ULKE Individual Enterprise and State Enterprise “Turkmendemironumlery” of the Ministry of Industry completed unique experiment on production of artificial graphite petroleum coke produced by Turkmenbashy Refinery Complex. Based on the received data, feasibility study of establishment of joint venture together with branch ministries was worked out. The business model has been designed of plant for production up to 40 thousand tons of artificial graphite and graphite based items like graphitic electrodes, blocks, lubricants, heat resistant and other materials. Petroleum coke, high-quality carbonaceous material, and produced artificial graphite are widely used in metallurgy, machine building, electrical engineering, chemical technology and many related industries. The potash fertilizer production in Turkmenistan and processing of potassium ore at the Garlyk complex can be considered as macro aspect of the country's industrial development, having far beyond the regional significance. The first thousand tons of environmentally friendly mineral fertilizers produced at Garlyk ore mining and potash processing complex have already been supplied to consumers of the Lebap, Mary, Ahal Dashoguz and Balkan provinces. Ten special freight cars were sent by railway to neighboring Afghanistan. Construction of another potash complex on the basis of the Karabil field in Lebap province are mapped out. According to International oil and gas university of Turkmenistan, the industrial reserves of potassium salts of this region are estimated at 3.6 billion tons, or 11% of the balance reserves of CIS. Pre-commissioning works are being carried out at the carbamide plant, which is under construction in Garabogaz town of Balkan province. The putting into operation of this giant of the chemical industry of Turkmenistan will bring the total nitrogen fertilizer production in the country up to two million tons. And, a quarter of this production would be exported. The industry of Turkmenistan is dynamically diversifying in line with the implementation of the comprehensive strategy for the production of export-oriented and import-substituting products.
