State awards were presented in Ashgabat to workers in culture and other sectors
A ceremony of presenting state awards for the contribution to socio-economic and cultural development of the country, skill and professional commitment was held in Ashgabat. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has signed the relevant Decree today.
Thirty persons were given high awards - the Gairat and For Love of the Homeland medals, as well as the titles of Honored Worker of Culture of Turkmenistan and Honored Worker of Arts of Turkmenistan.
Among them are famous artists and singers, members of other creative communities and different departments, youth mentors, elders, and representatives of various professions. Vice-Premier for cultu#re Bahargul Abdiyeva was also awarded the medal For Love of the Homeland.
Among the “heroes” of the celebration is Mekan Silapov, the Director of State Music and Drama Theater named after Seyitnazar Seidi of Lebap velayat. He had the honor to receive the medal For Love of the Homeland.
- This award is very important for me. It is not just a high appreciation of my modest work, but also the embodiment of a new stage in work, Mekan said.
For 18 years he has been working in the field of culture. He is not only a brilliant actor, but also a talented director. His directorial production could be seen in a concert programme on the occasion of the Independence Day festivity at the Ashgabat Stadium.
Very soon, Mekan and his creative team will go to the international theater festival in Kazakhstan, where Turkmenistan will be represented with the historical production Dayakhatyn.
