Turkmen and Chinese Companies Signed 12 Memoranda at a Business Forum in Shanghai

A Turkmen-Chinese business forum took place in Shanghai on November 6–7, coinciding with the participation of a national delegation in the China International Import Expo (CIIE). The event, organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan in collaboration with TMT Consulting Group, brought together over 500 representatives from government agencies and the private sector of both nations, highlighting the rapid evolution of the bilateral dialogue toward practical industrial cooperation.

The official proceedings began with a tour of the Turkmen national pavilion at the Shanghai exhibition center, followed by a plenary session focused on the development of the Great Silk Road. Addressing the participants, Mergen Gurdov, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan, emphasized the country’s significant investment potential and its readiness to establish joint manufacturing ventures in the textile, construction, energy, and electrical engineering sectors.

The practical outcome of intensive B2B and B2G negotiations was the signing of twelve memoranda of understanding. A significant contribution to this portfolio of agreements came from the domestic company Odjar Asia, which concluded deals across four strategic areas.
According to the company, a partnership with Super Smart Home will focus on the implementation of smart home technologies and artificial intelligence; a collaboration with Link Global International Logistics is aimed at developing international freight transport; an agreement with the Beijing-based Zhongsheng Honor center centers on investment cooperation; and a contract with SINOMACH HI International Equipment provides for the direct supply of heavy construction and agricultural machinery.
