Business Communities of Turkmenistan and the Astrakhan Region to Hold Joint Council Meeting

Next month, Astrakhan will serve as a venue for expanding the Turkmen-Russian business dialogue, hosting the fourth meeting of the Joint Turkmen-Astrakhan Entrepreneurship Council from November 15 to 21.
The upcoming forum aims to provide practical momentum for the implementation of new joint projects in the areas of industrial cooperation, shipbuilding, agriculture, and transit-transport logistics.
The roadmap and detailed agenda for the upcoming talks—including the organization of direct B2B meetings between business representatives—were thoroughly worked out during a recent visit to Ashgabat by an Astrakhan delegation led by the region's Head of Government, Denis Afanasyev.
A key aspect of the strategic partnership between Turkmenistan and the Astrakhan Region is the development of the Caspian transport and logistics hub. During consultations held in the capital with the leadership of the Cabinet of Ministers and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan, the parties prioritized the expansion of direct transport connectivity.
In particular, an initiative is being considered to launch regular air service between Astrakhan and Turkmenbashi, operated by Turkmenistan Airlines. Such a move would not only accelerate business communication and optimize cargo flows but also lay a solid foundation for boosting mutual tourism.
The upcoming meeting of the Entrepreneurship Council in Astrakhan will serve as a practical step toward enriching the partnership with new, concrete substance. Establishing direct cooperative ties between entrepreneurs from both countries, jointly utilizing Caspian port and shipbuilding infrastructure, and creating sustainable trade chains all underscore the commitment to consistently deepening multifaceted economic and humanitarian cooperation.
