Turkmenistan Promotes Parliamentary Diplomacy at OSCE PA Session in The Hague

A delegation from Turkmenistan participated in the 33rd Annual Session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, which took place from July 4 to 8 in The Hague, Netherlands. The current session became a key platform for demonstrating the newly consolidated position of the region's countries within the European space.
During the session, Turkmen parliamentarians participated in a special side event, "Parliamentary Dialogue of Central Asian Countries as a Mechanism for Building Confidence and Security in the OSCE Region and Beyond."

Speaking at this panel, the Turkmen delegation presented Ashgabat's strategic position: in the face of global turbulence, interparliamentary ties must transform from mere protocol meetings into a working preventive tool. The Turkmen side emphasized that a coordinated and comprehensive regional approach by the five Central Asian states allows for more effective advocacy of common interests in security, the environment, and logistics within the OSCE platform.
A key event of the visit was the Turkmen delegation's direct talks with the President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, Pere Joan Pons Sampietro.

The interlocutors conducted a detailed review of key integration areas. Particular emphasis was placed on the institutionalization of the Ashgabat International Conferences during the discussion with the OSCE PA President. Turkmenistan is consistently developing this initiative, promoting the capital as a permanent and authoritative Eurasian platform for the exchange of parliamentary experience, strengthening preventive diplomacy, and shaping new trust-building mechanisms.
