At the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov held talks with Maika Oshikawa, Director of the World Trade Organization (WTO) Accession Department, who arrived in Ashgabat on a working visit.
The meeting focused on identifying specific practical steps for the country's accession to the organization as a full member. The parties discussed in detail the dynamics of regional and international trade and economic cooperation, as well as the progress of modernizing the national legal framework, which is being brought into line with high WTO standards. They emphasized the systemic and consistent nature of their interaction, aimed at strengthening Turkmenistan's position in global markets.

As part of Maika Oshikawa's visit to the Turkmen capital, extensive consultations are planned with representatives of the relevant Government Commission, which coordinates all issues related to the country's accession to the WTO.
