President Serdar Berdimuhamedov addressed the nation on the occasion of Constitution and National Flag Day, calling them sacred symbols of national statehood, unity, and commitment to humanistic ideals.
The head of state emphasized that the Basic Law, which affirms the individual as society's highest value, enshrines the centuries-old democratic traditions of the Turkmen people and provides a solid legal foundation for the policy of permanent neutrality, three times recognized by the UN.
In his address, the President noted that in the year of celebrating the 35th anniversary of independence, Turkmenistan is demonstrating strong economic performance, successfully implementing the second phase of the Arkadag smart city, and modernizing innovative industrial infrastructure in all regions.
Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized that, guided by the constitutional principles of peace and good-neighborliness, the sovereign Fatherland is consistently expanding constructive political dialogue with the UN, the European Union, the CIS, the SCO, the OSCE, and other authoritative international organizations, cementing its status as a territory of universal harmony and sustainable progress.
Festive celebrations marking this significant date are traditionally held on May 18 at the Monument to the Constitution and the Main Flagpole in Ashgabat, as well as in the central squares of Arkadag, provincial centers, and the Avaza National Tourist Zone.
