On April 16, a series of events was held at the “Park-e Milli Baradar” sports complex in Injil district of Herat province. The event was organized jointly by the Consulate General, the Herat Provincial Department of Physical Education, and the Equestrian Federation. It was dedicated to the Year “Independent, Neutral Turkmenistan — the Homeland of Purposeful Winged Horses,” the 35th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s independence, and the National Holiday of the Turkmen Horse.
More than 20 horses from the western regions of Afghanistan participated in the festive horse racing.
Officials of relevant institutions in Herat province and equestrian specialists noted that the horse performances were not only a sporting event but also an important occasion strengthening ties between Turkmenistan and Afghanistan through equestrian sports and enhancing cultural relations. The races, held in a festive atmosphere, left a positive impression on the audience.
At the end of the event, the winning horses were awarded commemorative gifts and special prizes prepared by the Consulate General.
