Two new textbooks have been published in Turkmenistan’s higher education system, aimed at improving the professional qualifications of students in creative and technical fields. The publications, titled “Lighting Engineering” and “Color Science and Coloristics,” are designed to equip future specialists with the tools needed for effective work in media, design, and the arts.

Modern lighting technologies

The textbook “Lighting Engineering” (author: J. Rejepov) has been developed specifically for students studying film and television production, as well as theater and circus arts. The manual provides a detailed overview of modern lighting equipment and control systems used at the country’s major cultural venues. It will help future camera operators and lighting designers confidently navigate innovative technologies and apply them in practice.

Fundamentals of design and color theory

For university students specializing in design, the textbook “Color Science and Coloristics” (author: N. Yagshymuradov) has been published. The book consists of 22 thematic sections and focuses on developing practical skills:

• Studying the physical nature and psychology of color perception;

• Theory of harmonious color combinations and working with the color wheel;

• Creating professional artistic compositions.

The publication of these new textbooks in 2026 marks an important stage in the implementation of the state strategy for modernizing education and introducing modern standards for professional training.
