Emirates is launching the largest modernization program for its A380 and Boeing 777 aircraft, bringing passengers an entirely new level of comfort and technological advancement. The upgrade will begin in August 2026 and will cover around 60 A380 aircraft.
The goal of the program is to offer passengers a wide range of new products, including a modern in-flight entertainment system with 4K screens, enhanced Starlink Wi-Fi, and next-generation seats across all classes.

Premium Classes: More Privacy and Technology
Business Class: Will receive next-generation seats based on the Safran S Lounge design already used on the A350. These seats provide greater privacy and come with wireless charging, personalized lighting controls, and 4K screens.
Premium Economy Class: Will feature Recaro seats with mechanical recline, leather surfaces, increased space, footrests, and adjustable headrests.

Economy Class and In-Flight Entertainment
Economy Class: Will be fitted with lightweight Safran Z400 seats designed for long-haul flights, featuring an eight-way adjustable headrest.
Ice In-Flight Entertainment System: Will be upgraded using the Panasonic Astrova platform and 4K OLED HDR10+ displays. Each seat will include a powerful 67W USB-C port for fast device charging.
Internet: Emirates will integrate Starlink satellite internet across all refurbished A380 and Boeing 777 aircraft, ensuring high-quality connectivity.

To date, 76 aircraft have already been modernized. Upgrading one A380 takes about 22 days, while a Boeing 777 refurbishment takes approximately 18 days. Every month, two fully updated aircraft return to service.
